Humankind’s problems started from the Garden of Eden during the fall of man (Genesis Chap 3).
When Adam sinned, all men sinned because they were his descendants.
He passed the gene of sin into every human, and we became sinners.
Behold, I was shaped in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. (Ps 51:5)
The good relationship between God and man was destroyed, and death entered man’s life through sin. Every human on the face of the earth is a sinner innately, and by practice.
The curse was placed on humanity because of His wrath when Adam disobeyed His commandment lingered.
The good news is that God did not abandon man to suffer until eternity. He fulfilled the promise of the Savior through His son Jesus Christ.
It is the blood that Jesus Christ shed on the cross of Calvary that secured our complete redemption; it ransomed us from the burden of sins before the throne of God.
When Jesus Christ came to this world, He came as the savior of all humankind, the Lamb of God, who took away the sins of the world (John 1:29).
The Lamb of God symbolizes the Passover Lamb, whose blood was sprinkled on the houses of the Israelites to protect them during the Exodus from Egypt (Exodus 12). He is a gift of love from the Father for the salvation of the world (John 3:16-17).
Is Jesus Christ our Savior?
One primary reason Jesus came into this world is to save His people from their sins. This is what the angel Gabriel told Mary, the mother of our Lord (Mat 1:21). Jesus Himself, when defining His mission on earth, said:
The grip of sin is so penetrating and strong on a man that external intervention is required for any man to be free.
Paul mentioned two Adams; the first one fell in the garden of Eden and brought death unto humanity, while the second Adam, which is Jesus Christ, brought life back to humankind (1 Cor 15:22).
Jesus paid the price with His bloodshed on the cross (Gal 3:13). The blood of Jesus secured the forgiveness of our sins before the throne of God (Col 1:14) and delivered us from the judgment of God in the wrath to come (Rom 5:9).
His obedience until the point of death made His sacrifice acceptable, and God made him the captain of our salvation. Anyone who believes in Him is saved forever. Through suffering, He brought us back to God and repaired our friendship with Him, He’s the bridge between divinity and humanity (John 14:6).
Our salvation starts with accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior because:
If you have not believed in Him, this is the right thing to do, and you should do it today. By believing in Jesus who died and rose again for you, your sins shall be forgiven, and you will receive God’s gift of eternal life.
